vern stonoga is a 16 year old boy plagued by never-ending reincarnation. he and his brother have lived millions of lives together and yet he is the one stuck dwelling on everything while his brother goes on materialistically and carelessly.
vern is envious of everyone who will be given a peaceful release into nothingness once their human life is over. he's even envious of his own brother for the simple fact that he is actually able to live in the moment and forget.
having a mind this complex is both the cause of his suffering and exactly what can help him come to peace with everything.
